Key Achievements
Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Project – 2020 to 2025
Funded by the Government of Sweden through We Effect, this project has strengthened women’s ability to participate meaningfully in agricultural value chains.
Through collaborations with Heifer International, Zambia Land Alliance, and Women for Change, DWDA has:
Supported Households with sunflower, groundnuts, & beans seed packs
Households distributed goats to and village chickens to 40 households
Trained women to engage in agriculture as a business through the Pass on the Gift (POG) model
Promoted women’s land rights, financial inclusion, and leadership
Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship (YEE) Project – 2025 to 2027
In partnership with SNV, SIDA, and Irish Aid, this project is training 1,400 youth—700 males and 700 females—in entrepreneurship, agribusiness, and technical skills. The initiative promotes job creation, self-employment, and youth-led enterprise development.

CSO LEADS Project – 2024 to 2026
Implemented with People in Need (PIN) and the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR), with EU funding, this program strengthens the governance, accountability, and advocacy capacity of civil society organizations. Through this initiative, DWDA has improved policy engagement, citizen participation, and women’s involvement in climate justice and food systems advocacy.
